I went back into my lookbook account to revive this image of this girl. I find this look, impeccable! I love the neutral colors, and the fact that she’s very covered. One day I hope to create outfits like this.

Day 2 - 31day Reset
Day 2: Conduct a Life Assessment
Many of us have a love/hate relationship with the current state of our lives. There are some things that we love and appreciate about our circumstances, but honestly, there are some things we hate about them, too. (I know, hate seems like a strong word, but let’s just consider it to mean a “strong dislike” for something.) Today’s assignment will be a two-part exercise. Because before you can get clear about where you’re going, you need to have a good sense of where you are right now. You need to assess your current reality.
The purpose of this exercise is twofold:
- To force you to own up to exactly what’s lacking right now in your life.
- To give you encouragement to build on what’s already great about it.
To complete this exercise, you will conduct an honest assessment of the seven specific areas of your life:
- Lifestyle (satisfaction with where you live/living environment, how you spend your leisure time these days)
- Work (satisfaction with where you work right now, what you do to earn your living)
- Education (satisfaction with your educational attainment to date – college, vocational school and other learning goals)
- Finances (the current state of your budget/money management, salary, net worth, debt-to-income ratio)
- Health (the current state of your mental, physical and spiritual health – mind, body, soul)
- Family (the quality of your relationships with family members, siblings, children)
- Relationships (the quality of your relationships with friends and romantic partners)
For each of these specific areas of your life, ask yourself two questions.
- What do I LOVE about this area of my life?
- What do I HATE about it?
Okay here we go!
1. Lifestyle
- I love the fact that I read more on the internet. I’ve learned to control my time and keep myself busy with less distractions than in the past. I have a lot of time on my hands. I also love where we moved to, I feel anonymous and free to whatever I please. It’s hard to explain but I just love where I live now.
- I hate the fact that I’m not as spiritual as I used to be. I strongly feel like I’m lacking in that area which causes me to be more impatient, frustration, worried. I constantly have anxieties for everything until I have to sit myself down and say ‘its not that big of a deal!’
2. Work
*sidenote: I’m a student this is more of my ‘job’ than ‘career’
- I love that my workplace is very flexible, laid back and I enjoy the people I see there that make me laugh
- I hate the drama! I hate not getting the hours I ask for, or the paycheck I’m hoping for!
3. Education
- I love my major, its really interesting I love doing the readings for it and learning more about the whole field. My major is Urban Planning, but the title is actually Environmental Studies with a concentration in Urban and Regional Environments…
- I hate that its not more socially oriented. I wish I actually studied Urban Studies at my school, I’m into the environmental stuff but not to the extent of other students who concern themselves with the international scale, and how the environment is related to that. I really don’t care for that because you have to clean up your own house before you move on to the neighbourhood. I only continued in this major is because I didn’t want to spend 6 years in my school from changing my major like 3 times!
4. Finances
- As I mentioned before, I’m a student so I don’t make a lot of money, but since we have to talk about what we love. I love the fact that I have some sort of income lol. I’ve been working for well over a year and thats a big accomplishment. Also, I love that I have some sort of financial guidance of where I want my money to go.
- I’m not good at saving. I hate that I always come up with some wild idea of what I need. I’m always needing something, and I always make excuses to spend money like my birthday or Eid.
5. Health
- Alhamdulilah, my overall health is good. I’m very healthy physically.
- I guess everyone can nitpick at themselves, but I hate that I’m not a positive person, I take my realism and sometimes fall over the fold of pessimism. I also, I gained a lot of weight and I’m currently in the process of healthy eating and exercising but I hate that I can’t stick to things, as I mentioned before I hate that my spiritual health is not as good as it used to be.
6. Family
- I love that my family ties, with my immediate family has become stronger than before. I feel much closer to my siblings, and my dad. I love that I’ve always had a good relationship with my mother, despite everything that has happened she has always been there for me. I really do consider her my best friend and role model in regards to strength and perseverance.
- I hate that I don’t have a strong relationship with my extended family. I have a lot of issues overlooking other people’s faults and being less forgiving when it comes to their shortcomings. Therefore, I always end up distancing myself from relatives who I don’t agree with. I also don’t keep in touch, I usually assume everyone knows I’m busy and therefore don’t touch base, often.
7. Relationships
- I love the relationships that I have with my friends, we all respect each others thoughts and always wish the best. I often wish I met these girls a long time ago. I also, love the relationships that I have with *ahem* others… it caused me to be more grateful and appreciative for what God as blessed me with.
- I hate that I hold grudges with previous friends and wish that I could just grow up and let things go.
